Position Summary:
Join athenahealth as a Lead Member of Technical Staff on the engineering team in Chennai, working in a hybrid model. In this role, you will help modernize a large-scale enterprise reporting platform as it moves from a monolithic transactional architecture to a cloud-native, self-service analytics experience. You will work across data modeling, cloud optimization, and full-stack development to deliver solutions that improve reporting capabilities for healthcare providers. This role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager.
About the Team:
The team is modernizing athenahealth’s enterprise reporting platform and moving from legacy systems to a cloud-native analytics experience. The work includes building scalable data models, improving query performance, managing cost and performance at scale, and supporting migration of complex SQL across database systems. The team partners with data engineers, product managers, business analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver solutions used by healthcare providers every day. The environment includes Snowflake, Java, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS, and the work combines technical depth with system design and hands-on development.
