Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially aware engineer to handle cost estimation and mechanical design of pressure vessels and industrial strainers. The role requires strong knowledge of ASME design codes, costing methodologies, and fabrication processes, with the ability to support both sales and engineering teams in delivering competitive and technically sound proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Design and develop pressure vessels and industrial strainers as per project requirements
Perform calculations as per ASME Section VIII Div 1 and relevant international standards
Prepare:
GA drawings
Fabrication drawings
Bill of Materials (BOM)
Select appropriate MOC (SS, CS, Duplex, Alloy, etc.) based on application
Ensure compliance with client specs, TPI requirements, and quality standards
Cost Estimation & Proposal Support
Prepare accurate cost estimates for:
Raw materials
Fabrication & machining
Bought-out items (valves, actuators, internals)
Analyze RFQs and technical specifications from EPCs/end users
Coordinate with procurement for vendor quotations
Develop competitive techno-commercial offers in coordination with the sales team
Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality
Technical & Commercial Coordination
Interact with clients, consultants, and EPC contractors for technical clarifications
Support the sales team during pre-bid and post-bid discussions
Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises
Maintain estimation databases for standard products and past projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
2–6 years of experience in:
Pressure vessel design
Industrial strainers / filtration equipment
Static equipment in Oil & Gas / Process industries
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of:
ASME Section VIII Div 1
Pressure drop calculations (strain ers/filters)
Material selection for corrosive environments
Proficiency in:
AutoCAD / SolidWorks (or equivalent)
MS Excel (costing models)
Understanding of:
Welding, machining, casting, and fabrication processes
NDT & testing requirements (hydrotest, DP test, etc.)
Key Competencies
Strong analytical and costing mindset
Ability to balance engineering accuracy with commercial competitiveness
Good communication skills for client interaction
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple RFQs simultaneously
