Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.

Pros

It’s a big company Company name used to mean something and have strong brand recognition, now is basically an outsourcing and cost cutting machine.

Cons

Little to no salary bumps - even promotees have smaller pay band bumps now compared to a few years ago. Little to no bonuses. One year we got zero bonus and the last 2 years it’s been an average of <5%. No promotions. Promotions are legitimately backlogged YEARS. And when you do get promoted, the compensation is worse than before. You’re also being expected to do more for promotions than ever before all while not being compensated for it. They love making you work for that dangling carrot. Cherry on top? The stock buyback program used to be a legitimate perk. Now, our stock price has TANKED and everyone has lost thousands of dollars at a minimum. This is all due to “company hardships” and a “tough pipeline.” Meanwhile, we’re seeing record revenue and the CEO is receiving multi million dollar bonuses. Not to mention, they’ve cut benefits (i.e. less in office events, no company outings, no free lunches) compared to years ago + can drop millions of dollars to sponsor NFL games and golf tournaments but can’t give their employees an inflation raise. Seriously, people in my practice are going on 5+ years of NO PAY INCREASE. That means they are losing money compared to previous years. Yet we are being asked to work more hours and over deliver on understaffed projects more than ever before. Oh and don’t forget you have to do “+1s” and “help with sales” to even be CONSIDERED for a raise, bonuse or promotion!!
