Pros

"Nothing nothing nothing " Will utilize this space to write Cons about the biggest Con of the century. As a serious career professional you would not find any positive in this Fraud Unit that operates in the name of "Bain & Company". However, if you want coaching for anything and everything around "Un-professionalism" "Politics" and "Unethical practices" your search ends here. Say yes to them only if you want the below: 1. Lots of Free Food - If that's your ultimate goal of going to office 2. Lots of off-sites - If you are a holiday/travel junkie 3. Lots of parties - If thats your mantra in life They do throw lots of other perks at you like we throw peanuts to Monkeys in a Zoo. But, remember they still think u r a MONKEY!

Cons

"All all all everything" 1. Sr Management (GM's): GM group is a small happy family and its a family run business. Company is very dynamic as decision making changes every hour depending on the their mood. GM's have full control on Appraisal system and policy formulations and are happy to screw careers without reason. Very mediocre leadership, most of them are adopted for life but would not qualify for a reputable position elsewhere! To survive this breed you need to be an office pet and get their coffee on time. Spineless HR is not only a mere spectator but believes in openness and transparency as nothing with HR team stays confidential. Highly paperless organisation as performance reviews are completely verbal and without facts. 2. Culture: This place has a great culture of disrespect, humiliation and unethical Behavior. Anyone who questions this is a "Cultural Misfit". Any kind of meeting/presentation is a joke as people are eating chewing & refilling the free food with no respect to the speaker who continues to present, really shocking!!! Mind blowing spy culture, the GMs have rogue agents in every nook and corner and will even report what you had in lunch hence beware every move you make is being watched - this is an essential requirement given GM's are not in office 90% of the time. Non meritorious boot-licking culture. 3. Discrimination - This is core to the companies DNA. Basic flexibility comes to you with designation - GM's stay at home for petty reasons, however anything below you are supposed to choose between a sick child and coming to office. Discrimination between Laterals and Home grown is also in your face. Laterals are considered low life's as even returning their greetings is a crime, let alone following their instructions as a senior. Out of sight, out of mind meaning newbies are not marked in email communications pertaining to your own projects and have to beg to be kept in loop. This is a body shop manufacturing goons of the highest order. Hence, if you are bored of being respected, professional and Ethical look no further and join them. All your nightmares will come true.

Pros

Bain is a great place to work. Leaders are always willing to invest in you and support your professional growth. Every project is a new and exciting problem to solve, with the opportunity to work with senior leaders at clients and make a real positive impact on their business. The benefits are also amazing, with 5 months parental leave, fully covered health insurance, and automatic 401K deposits (no matching required).

Cons

60 hour work weeks. Some travel, though less than competitors

Pros

Welcome to Bain. I'm going to give you a problem that neither the CEO nor his entire management team could solve. And I'm probably going to give you lots of different opinions and imperfect data sources. And then I'll ask you to focus in on where the most value is and convince all those people with different opinions that you're right. But don't worry, I'm also going to give you a Bain team. Those associates and consultants are going to be tenacious in coming up with creative approaches. Those managers and partners are going to knock down barriers for you, connect you where you need to be connected, guide, support, direct and re-direct you. The office support staff is going to fix your computer after you spilled coffee on it for the third time, find you the unfindable data source, and smile and hand you a baked good after you ask for help re-doing dozens of slides. You are empowered and accountable but you are not alone. And the best part is you can't fail. Because after all, what all those people are reinforcing is that a Bainie never lets another Bainie fail.

Cons

Here's how you know you've made it at Bain. The reward for doing a good job is getting a bigger, tougher problem next time. Meaning, you are always solving the easiest problem you will ever solve again. This takes a lot of resilience and active managing of self-expectations to remember that you are not actually getting worse, the problems are just getting harder. So my advice is to remember that. And then take a second to realize that it would be a lot less fun if the reverse were true. And isn't that precisely why you wanted this job in the first place anyway? It sure was for me.
