#AkamaiIndia started their Start-up program in 2019, to support businesses related to our core areas: cybersecurity, digital experiences, media, gaming, carrier, IoT and HR-Tech. This helped unlock a collaboration opportunity with many B2B start-ups in areas of innovation, licensing, equity investments etc; multiple alumni of the program were able to successfully raise funding, receive prestigious recognition and showcase their work at summits. "I remember my first day, I started on a Saturday – I had travelled to Singapore to attend Akamai University Live in 2015, a major sales event. I was introduced to a room full of Senior Executives at Akamai and that was a truly welcoming start." Meet Soumitra, he's based in 📍 Bangalore for #AkamaiIndia, where he works as a Director of Engineering (Data Experience). We asked him more about his journey his best memory with us: "In my first year at Akamai, I partook in the Wizards program, where my submission was chosen amongst the top 10 innovative ideas. I had the chance to pitch before Tom Leighton, our CEO and board of directors. The intrapreneurial spirit to innovate and the opportunity has been etched in my memory. I have since been part of the Akamai Wizards core team and it is rewarding to be associated with this innovation program. Every individual, be a new hire or experienced, irrespective of their level in the hierarchy can make a difference – every idea counts in the success of the organisation."
