Very negative process which took over 4 months. Deloitte was very unresponsive and didn't communicate the final outcome, which I only found out after chasing several times.
First round was a phone call covering behaviours and some technical details such as previous pipeline projects. The call was rescheduled several times a late notice, with one of the interviews being rescheduled on the day. When I finally had the call, the interviewer was friendly and asked standard data engineering and behavioural questions (see questions section).
There was then a several week delay before the next round of interviews. The interview was a presentation, with one hour given to prepare some slides and content from a briefing pack. The briefing pack was minimal, with very little context or technical detail to explore. When I had the call, it became apparent that the interviewer had no idea what was in the briefing pack. The interviewer said that the process had changed recently, but I still have no idea how they didn't know much about the task I had been given! They then proceeded to ask me business style questions about the consultancy process, which generally didn't relate to data engineering. The interviewer was generally quite confrontational throughout but I managed to keep calm and polite regardless (the interviewer later said that this was part of the interview). At one stage during one of my answers, the interviewer was just staring out of the window and not listening to what I was saying.
Following this interview, there was no response from Deloitte for almost 2 months, despite me chasing up. Finally this week I have had a response over the phone that my application will not continue, but I still have not had any written feedback provided.
Pretty disappointed that Deloitte treat candidates this was given their reputation and general notoriety as a quality consultancy.
