Someone from Jio Platform team contacted me, they found my profile online.
The TA was kind however I had to nudge them multiple times to receive feedback and a closure.
I was interviewed for software engineer 2 position in the Jio Platform CoE AI/ML team.
The interview was extremely easy however the interviewer expects you to answer the problem solving question exactly the way it should be done with proper code. It was DS/Algo recursion problem... it is also a standard question that can easily be found in leetcode DP section.
Few companies want to take interviews of the level of FAANG but at the same time they forget that they need to have other skills like design, experience and communication as well to get things to production.
Jio Platform CoE AI/ML is doing the same mistake of expecting exact DS/Algo solutions rather than having a good discussion. I have been working my sweat to serve a backend application to millions of users in my current experience but what was expected out of me at Jio was to code a classic DP problem. The sad truth is that we are in a leet-coding era.
I had to make multiple follow-ups to get feedback from them. The reason I was following up is because I thought I had a good discussion and thought I was through. At this point I feel sorry for engineers like me and the industry.
