Pros

Product lines are superb. Thanks to their copycat chinese CEO and technology. Passionate , egoistic, arrogant engineers. Ryzen will bust the market.

Cons

Worst Managers. AMD fan boy. Think they can beat Intel, when Intel got bored of CPU long back and moved away from all these marketing techniques, once Moore's law ended. They have so many businesses that AMD can only dream of. Buying out companies is an old technique when you dont have your own expertise. Indian management is worst . They give threat to fire employees and ruin their career. People are earning double AMD engineers' money doing less challenging and so-called less meritorious tasks.

Pros

AMD Ryzen is a known name though it is not as famous as Intel

Cons

AMD India (Bangalore) is the worst place to work. The management is pathetic. They don't need engineers, they need robots that work day and night and simply follow the instructions. Micromanagement is at the core of the team. Managers and Directors are dictators here. Engineers are slaves to them. You won't find more arrogant and rude director and manager in the industry. You need to follow each and every word they say. They are always right. Nobody is going to help you. If you join AMD you are on your own. But everyone will ask for status updates day and night. Instead of actual work, most of the focus is on meetings. You will spend half of your working hours in meetings and giving status. Therefore making it obvious that you need to spend extra hours to complete the actual work. There are lot of VLSI companies having much better work culture than AMD. Join them and save your career. Once you join AMD, there won't be any increments and bonuses given to you for more than a year. Save your personal life and your career. Stay away from AMD.

Pros

The best thing about working for AMD is the technology. AMD's processors are cutting-edge and employees can learn a lot from working on these processors. The culture is open and encourages sharing of technical information. By and large the employees are friendly and the work-life balance is great.

Cons

The company seems always to be just one step away from financial meltdown. This, unfortunately, has an effect on the way the company operates - there are quite a few penny-wise-pound-foolish decisions and teams are often understaffed. The effect of being understaffed is that everything gets done in a hurry, which isn't great for quality, because we're constantly picking up technical debt. Also, often there isn't enough time to think through things and actually acquire understanding because of the rush to get stuff done and move on to the next task. The other issues with AMD are that it's very hierarchical, there seems to be quite a lot of disparity in how employees are treated, paid etc., and finally the pay and stock options (for those who get them) are well below the market average.
