Pros

- Good pay - Work from home - Stock options and good bonus and refreshers

Cons

There are many which I figured out in my 2 year tenure. - An org. building project management/agile software like Jira does not utilize Jira well. Their processes are terribly bad and unclear. - Atlassian Real Values: Blame game, people pleasing, demotivation, Negative mindset, Politics and bring people down to climb up the ladder. - As managers create an empire of senior engineers irrespective of whether they have work or not to grow. - You will be judged based on failures only which might not be even relevant. - Arrogance in managers, juniors or new members are treated badly. - Actually nobody cares about how employees feel. There are internal employee surveys but feedback is not taken into account. Leadership will do whatever pleases them. - Avoid Data Portability team. Hell load of work, frequently changing expectations and pressure to meet deadline. Majority of the work do not even have any significant impact. Join at your own risk.

Pros

Good work life balance, good pay, fully remote work

Cons

Bad work culture, very toxic environment. Atlassian may have a philosophy of not hiring "brilliant jerks" but they have hired "jerk leaders" who spread nothing but toxicity in the system. Such leaders will make use of you as long as you are useful to them, and when you are down, instead of supporting you, as someone said, these leaders will kill you, bury you into the ground and then build their fancy castles on top of your very grave.

Pros

Pay and benefits are good.

Cons

I'm reaching out to address the concerning work culture and practices within the Data Portability organization. It's crucial to shed light on these experiences to safeguard the well-being of current and potential employees who might be unaware of these issues within the organization, particularly concerning the Head of Engineering (GS). 1. Unfavorable Work Environment: GS fosters a culture marked by favouritism and intimidation. Employees often face unrealistic demands, resulting in failures that significantly impact their motivation and job satisfaction. 2. Lack of Responsibility: There's a clear absence of accountability. Decisions are made without adequate justification or consideration of their consequences, leading to inefficient processes, wasted resources, and demoralization among teams. 3. Biased Practices: Hiring, promotions, and recognition demonstrate evident favoritism toward select individuals based on personal connections or preferences rather than merit or qualifications. This biased approach contradicts the fairness principles Atlassian stands for. 4. Insufficient Support and Growth: Employees raising concerns or differing opinions have faced exclusion from crucial projects or opportunities. The lack of adequate support and professional development impedes individual growth and perpetuates a stagnant work environment.
