Pros

Good company for those who don't wish to stay longer ( less than 7 months). Good company for those who have ZERO calibre and do not wish to work and are good in spoiling the work. Barclays is not meant for really hard working professionals

Cons

No growth High attrition NO RETENTION Fake Hiring Interviews Hire 1 Fire 3 Policy If you are good at your job and have great values, they will compel you for a Performance Improvement Plan without a valid reason and eventually torture you to resign.

Pros

Did not see many positives out here.

Cons

I was recruited as an Assistant Vice President in Barclays shared services in Mumbai. The jobs given to me after joining were not in line with those outlined during interviews and were not at all relevant to my profile. After many conversations with management, I finally resigned . My notice period was 3 months. However, I had asked for an early relieving of 1 month after resignation date. My manager agreed to reduce notice period by 1 month only and HR issued a letter to me that my contractual end date and last working day would be 2 months after my resignation date. since I did not have much responsibilities at work, I approached the MD for early reliving. He agreed to cut my notice period to 1 month after resignation date. In accordance with this, HR issued another letter to me stating my last day of working and last day of employment both to be 1 month after resignation date. I served till this date, completed all exit formalities and left. Now, HR has sent me FNF in which they are asking me to pay 2 months notice pay , have withheld my final salary and not giving releiving letter after repeated reminders.. this is how I'm being harassed further even after leaving the employment . Looks like Barclays can only boast abt it's values but not live upto it..

Pros

1) good salary. around 20% more than market salary(if you have negotiated during HR discussion) 2)Work from home option sometimes when you need 3) flexible work hour 4) year end bonus of 10% if you have got average and good rating

Cons

1) Work pressure. similar type of work on daily basis -so no growth 2) Work from home does not mean you will be working less. This is the catch to provide you laptop and blackberry and burden you on work 3) No transparent process in Appraisal. so lobby/oiling works. so tjose who are well politically stay here for long term 4) No promotion . the role on which you have joined you will have to work on same role and no defined process to move to next level 5) Whatever a 2yr guy does in support even a 10 yr B4 will do same work and when rating is provided manager has lot of point to tell what you have done when a 2 yr guy is doing what u also are doing 6) no onsite. if u get a one/2 week onsite then it is a loss for you. as there is no per diem amount. whatever u spent at onsite they will provide the same amount once u provide the bill and same money u will get in 2 months. 7) any monetary claim amount is paid after a month or more(45 days around SLA time) 8) some manager who have joined 2-3 yr back does not want to switch job as they are getting paid very good salary and for them no work. just co-ordinate and bother the technical people 9) You can not escalate anything to HR as it looks like HR process is there just to recruit the people and have 2 days of induction 10) No internal position change as your current manager does not release you 11) firing at singapore center - so no job security 12) Some managers tries to bully you
