Pros

You lose weight if you work at the store and get better at interacting with people.

Cons

-In decathlon India, Employees are exploited in the name of growth and money. Personal lives and health go for a toss. - employees stand all day (8 hours) and work. That's fine if they're fit enough but they are restoricted from going on breaks many times. I call this physical harrasment. - WRT work timings, you are sent back home if they are 5 minutes late for work and they undergo a loss of pay for that day but they are expected to stretch for hours after their shift is over. Part timers work like full timers and I've seen people doing 2 shifts in 1 day, that's means standing for almost 14 hours, all in the name of growth and gaining experience. - customers are cheated many a times when they purchase items on clearance sale. The price of those items is not updated on the billing systems and customers are charged the original MRP price instead of the discounted Price. - store cleanliness is a matter of concern as many gym equipments tried by the customers are covered with sweat and saliva of customers who have tested them. Those equipments are never cleaned and they can be a major factor in spreading diseases. Products on the shelf too are dusty most of the times, this can lead to customers and employees facing major respiratory problems. - new recruits are only asked to fold clothes for a long period of time, their training is neglected and hence growth is slowed down. -Many products are of poor quality, I see decathlon becoming the big bazaar of sports. -many managers in decathlon India are lazy and sometimes pick on subordinates unnecessarily. I see many sales managers who are way more efficient and responsible than the store and department managers. -The offer letter from decathlon does not mention points about employees' leaves, notice period, hours of work etc. These are fundamental points that need to be mentioned regardless of the type of business or organisational structure. - women employees that are present for the afternoon shift leave after 10 PM and sometimes beyond without being escorted by security. Many live in areas that are far from the store and I feel their safety and security is at stake. Decathlon India has neglected this big time. - Some points about decathlon India are lied to when a new recruit is being interviewed, the truth comes into picture only after he/she accepts the job offer and joins work.
