Pros
nothing great, it was expanding a lot from 2003-2005. huge brand name. i personally changed from the software world to the bpo world so for me it was a downgrade. the best learning was in seeing how a large enterprise in the US sets up shop in india and goes about hiring. if you are serious about the call center / bop domain then the CVG brand is huge and proving yourself in this company could open up doors for you at other places. its a very people friendly organization and if you looking for a place that has a reasonable pace of work then cvg is the place for you.
Cons
very high attrition, margins are being squeezed year on year and convergys is not moving up the value chain. its still stuck in the vanilla call center business whose days might be numbered with work from home features available today. if you are high acheiver then you might find working at convergys frustrating since this is a slow moving organization based on its sheer size and the people oriented nature of the company which means that many times managers are not gutsy enough to make decisions such as firing people etc. the company is trying to move into new business verticals and as such there could be a change on cards which could disconcern already established employees
