Pros

When I started over 5 years prior, the company had great intentions to be a good company and treat people with respect and dignity. The culture was improving consistently. They were putting in the right people in the right positions to accelerate their growth.

Cons

It all went to garbage. Massive leadership issue. Greed and internal politics ruined everything. Women and minorities were actively marginalized. There are now no women at the Chief level and only a few women left at the VP level in the entire company. The entire finance organization was a total disaster, allowing incompetence, arrogance, pettiness, favoritism, and nastiness to reign supreme.

Pros

Great product and great people. The company is smart about its focus on verticals where they're the strongest, putting a lot of resources behind customer-led growth. Employees are well informed on company progress with quarterly All Hands. Decent benefits and hybrid work with 3 days in office is nice.

Cons

It's very hard to advance at this company. Very few women are promoted compared to men. Annual reviews are structured in a way that makes it virtually impossible to get promoted, even when your manager supports it. The highest rating is reserved for 5% of all employees and the next one down also has a very high bar. Best that most can hope for is "Meets Expectations", even if you've gone above and beyond in many ways. Employees regularly have more responsibilities put on them beyond their job description -- or willingly taken on with the goal of advancement -- then given aggressive growth targets for the new duties with no raise or advancement for their efforts, and no additional resources to support the expanded role. This happened not only with my position but others I worked with on a daily basis. And be ready for a "demotion" if you should get a direct report as they will change the job title: I went from Senior Manager to Manager when I got a direct report and was told by HR that that's just how it works. I repeatedly asked for guidance from HR on paths to promotion in my role and received nothing.
