Pros

* Decent benefits (paid leaves, subsidized food etc.) * Huge and vibrant JFTWC campus with lots of engagement events * Employees are cared if they face personal issues

Cons

* Path ethic work culture in Aviation DS - high nepotism, brown nosing, lack of good mentors and zero collaboration * Handful of good data scientists. There are no challenging DS projects so no motivation to develop technical experts. Mostly people doing BI type work. Attrition of good resources. * Managers have no interest in promoting merit based culture. Preferential treatment given to people who started careers with GE (in Engineering teams!) and have no background in analytics. If you are joining from outside be ready to work under the "leadership" of these folks by doing all the work and also share credit. * Political work environment. No transparency in Awards/promotions and definitely not based on your competence. Rewarded only for fake million dollars saved or closeness to management. Some pet people win awards at every level in the organization each year. * Poor payscale and growth opportunities. Too crowded at top with poor leaders. Its an inverse pyramid with too many leaders and too few to execute * Fake pride of GE brand visible in all the old timers

Pros

My Boss, or People Leader as we call them at GE Aerospace, is one of the best people I've ever worked for ... and after a long career in the military, I've had quite a few leaders. She is very supportive, helpful when I need it, all without ever micromanaging my daily activities. I also love that this company lives up to its mission statement and really does put the customer first.

Cons

Upward mobility in the area where I work has been and will continue to be a difficult journey. It's better in other parts of the company.
