Pros

1) Start with over 3 weeks vacation per year. 7 of those days are at Christmas and New Year's when the company just shuts down. 2) Relatively stress-free 3) IT department is split into Infrastructure (Networking and Servers/Storage), Security, and Service Desk 4) No bonus for non-management staff but the base salary is quite competitive

Cons

1) highly political 2) 5-days onsite. no remote or hybrid 3) Healthcare is through UMR, a cheap United Healthcare plan that does everything it can to deny you medication 4) Service Desk people are not trained to do much troubleshooting. If it sounds like a network or server issue, it instantly gets categorized in the ticketing system as such with no effort whatsoever to even see if a network cable is plugged in. 5) Houston office is next to the Galleria, so be ready for serious traffic

Pros

The work from home was nice

Cons

Management provides little to no structured training, leaving employees to figure things out on their own. The open office layout creates a noisy, overstimulating environment that makes it difficult to focus. Employees are frequently asked to take on responsibilities that were not discussed or agreed upon during the interview process. Overall, the office lacks organization, which adds to the day-to-day challenges of the role.
