Pros

Good for freshers to learn and senior management is easily approachable

Cons

Silent layoffs like TCS that no one talks about and severance pay is 3 months basic salary, not the full salary. Either you will be forced to resign on same day or accept 3 months of gardening leave. I was forced to resign on 3rd day of rolling out of project even after a good performance in client project with success story/accolades/appearing in org newletter during previous quarter/month. I was given the reason, "no projects"! Anticipated a call back and accepted gardening leave with the payment of only basic salary(with tax/pf deduction on it) for 90 days. Rude HR behaviour on phone on the day of leaving as if I was an outsider. That HR personnel also left the next month. :) Not recommended for experienced folks in long run, 1 year is ok here for them. No growth map for experienced folks, lay-off is the only goal for them once you are non-billable. Everyone is bothered about TCS mass layoffs, still silent layoffs are happening in mid sized org like this one, no one/no media speaks about.
