Great place to work - Retail Sales Associate The UPS Store Employee Review

Pros

1. Managers here are great. They treat you with respect and have great values. 2. Pretty easy job to do, everything can be learned within 1 week to a month. 3. Decent pay and it’s a good spot for people who are looking for something more substantial but still need to work to get by. 4. Managers have lots of connections with other people and companies so it’s good for networking.

Cons

1. Each store is franchised, so you might not have the same experience as I did when it comes to the managers and co-workers. 2. Since the stores are franchised, not every place has the same rules and practices, therefore customers tend to get angry at you if they’re used to doing something at one store, but can’t at yours. 3. We’re not officially UPS itself, we just work with them. A lot of angry customers will come to you expecting you to fix things that are out of your control, especially if they never happened at your store.

Pros

They were willing to grow my skills and teach me a decent amount about all things print. They reliably gave me 40 hours of work. Day to day was mostly self managed, so they trusted you if you were competent.

Cons

Ownership was incredibly cheap. I was promised raises as print expanded, that was certainly not the case and when i brought that up I already knew what the answer would be. I had to beg for an upgrade to our print facilities that only came at the expense of losing an assistant to help with print. Overall ownership lacked willingness to spend money to make money. Despite losing an assistant I received no raise and workload only continued to get piled on as other aspects of print got given to me until I was essentially a one man team.
