The UPS Store

Part of UPS

Is this your company?

Loved the job and co-workers, but not the owner or corporate. - Sales Associate The UPS Store Employee Review

Pros

The job itself is great. Pretty relaxed and easy--though there is a lot to learn and you're never not learning new things. In the world of shipping, rules change regularly. My co-workers were awesome.

Cons

The owner is unbelievable in every possible meaning of the word. If you like being treated like a child, talked down to, insulting behind your back (she says things where she thinks you don't hear, or people tell you what she said while you're not there), and more, this is a good place for you. Customers can be beyond stressful sometimes. The UPS Store and UPS are two different companies and they have different rules, but they don't understand that and will never believe you.

Pros

They were willing to grow my skills and teach me a decent amount about all things print. They reliably gave me 40 hours of work. Day to day was mostly self managed, so they trusted you if you were competent.

Cons

Ownership was incredibly cheap. I was promised raises as print expanded, that was certainly not the case and when i brought that up I already knew what the answer would be. I had to beg for an upgrade to our print facilities that only came at the expense of losing an assistant to help with print. Overall ownership lacked willingness to spend money to make money. Despite losing an assistant I received no raise and workload only continued to get piled on as other aspects of print got given to me until I was essentially a one man team.
