Pros

Summer hours if you can actually sign off on time. Employees who start earlier than others do not see much of a benefit.

Cons

Company hires back employees that abandoned ship for higher positions and higher pay. Does not consider how this makes the rest of the employees who have stuck it out with this company feel. It’s a personal slap in the face to see this happen time and time again. Management promotes management with made up weird positions, and does not promote within their hard working employees. How many promotions must a manager get in a short period of time? This company is very click heavy, and you will not get anywhere unless you know the right people. The work life balance is terrible, and employees often work weekends and nights with no compensation. CEO brags about how much money we make, however, employees see little return. Employee of the month initiative is a joke, and a clear display of favoritism. Morale is terrible with a bully like approach from upper management. There is little to no recognition for employees, and there is little to no respect for them as well. New IT management wants to off shore jobs instead of seeking opportunity within. Pay is not comparable to market value. Resources are always limited, but upper management is always plentiful.

Pros

Good work/life balance, generous PTO

Cons

• Excessive management layers: There are too many layers of management, many of which seem focused on self-preservation rather than supporting the team. This creates unnecessary bureaucracy, leaving employees bogged down with low-value tasks and corporate checkboxes instead of meaningful work. • Outdated technology and resistance to innovation: The tech stack is significantly outdated, and there is a clear resistance to adopting modern solutions. For example, I was penalized for incorporating AI into development work, despite other teams being encouraged to use tools like ChatGPT for less impactful tasks. Opportunities to implement cost-saving, AI-driven solutions were dismissed without proper consideration. • Unsustainable expectations for advancement: Promotions appear to be reserved only for top performers who are willing to prioritize work above all else. The expectation to “eat, sleep, and breathe” the job creates an unhealthy work-life balance and limits growth opportunities for otherwise strong contributors.
