Pros

Work life balance is real at M-Files. People have the opportunity to move into different roles in the company and that is welcomed. There is a mentoring program and a leadership program and I have participated in both. The people I work with are awesome. Our leadership team is transparent in communication. During Covid, I heard of companies that kept their plans quiet and then just let people go in mass. At M-Files, we were all informed of how we were doing and even asked to participate in plans to stave off layoffs. This is a great company to work for.

Cons

Change happens at every company. We've had some restructuring recently about who reports to what groups. It can be uncomfortable, but it happens and I'm sure it will be better on the other side of the change.

Pros

Talented and collaborative team High-impact, customer-facing work Strong exposure to enterprise environments

Cons

High performance does not guarantee stability Limited transparency from leadership Recognition and rewards may not fully materialize Workload could become excessive at times Layoffs impacted strong contributors I spent four years here as a Sales Engineer and consistently performed at a high level. I supported enterprise deals, partnered closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering, and contributed meaningfully to pipeline growth and customer success. I also carried a significant workload, often working extended hours to keep up with demand. At one point, the volume of work was high enough that management had to step in and redistribute some of my responsibilities. Despite that, I remained fully committed and continued delivering strong results. Despite strong performance, I was let go in early 2026. What made the experience especially frustrating was that I had earned President’s Club (148% of quota in 2025) and the associated BVI trip, but was not given the opportunity to attend due to the timing of the "layoff". It was difficult to see both sustained effort and recognized performance ultimately not translate into stability or follow-through. While I understand that business decisions are driven by broader factors, there was limited transparency leading up to the organizational changes, which added to the frustration. Based on this experience, it’s difficult to fully recommend this employer. Based on this experience, I would encourage candidates to carefully evaluate how performance, recognition, and organizational decisions are aligned.

Pros

Great product to promote in IT. Competitive name so it will look good on resume. One of the perks is travel and being in great international places.

Cons

Managers leave or let go often - annually. Company changes its strategy every 2 years - not really steady. Technical roles based in Europe have more longevity and job security compared to roles in USA.
