High performing employees are no longer confident of retaining their jobs, since there is absolutely no logic when it comes to laying off people.
Even employees with top 2 rating have also been laid off. Moreover, layoffs have become an annual affair now...sometimes even bi-annual. If you manage to please your US boss, you may retain your job during layoffs. Indian managers have absolutely no say....they even do not know who in their team gets laid off.
The HR is mostly non existent after your joining formalities are done. The team that I was part of had absolutely no interaction with the HR team during the 5 years of my stay there, except during hiring and during the annual layoffs. My peer level managers too mentioned they meet HR only during these times.
The salary packages are now way below the industry benchmark. It used to be attractive about 5 years ago.
Many teams have not got any salary raises last year and this year....and the bonuses have been miniscule in comparison with what was paid around 5 years ago.
Career growth in India is limited....favouritism is raising its ugly head in many teams, especially since the few projects that come to India are very reluctantly given to India by the US bosses.
Looks like they are aiming to have only a marketing and sales presence in India in the years to come.
It was truly a great company to work for till about 3 years ago...not anymore.
