Pros

None, except if you just want to enjoy wasting your time with no growth.

Cons

Most of G4's in India is pathetic. They are biased and play favoritism, especially in Tesco UK project. They say open up but won't listen to advise as you are not the favorite employee. Same old technology "excel" and "ppt" is their favorite tool and on that, you will work, even if you are a data scientist or big data scientist. They will hire but don't have work to give you, so you end up working poor work. The list is big, but you get the picture.

Pros

* Fixed Timings * Cab facility * Brand Value * Best place if you want to party almost every day, go on office trips/events

Cons

* No work; trust me they call it a data science company and yet most guys know only SQL. While the JDs while hiring talk about all technologies- only a few have any know how of advanced tools. Most guys hired for Python/Spark/Hadoop are forced to work on SQL for most hours (always in some cases) of their job. * The quality can be judged through interviews itself; you will find it the easiest. Think about a data science company asking you only market basket analysis and no statistical/machine learning questions. Yes, its that easy. * HR are very responsive on glassdoor; I can vouch that once you join they won't even reply to your mails * I know a very senior data scientist who once argued and stayed firmed on standardizing Gender variable. He is seen as one of very qualified data scientists here. The same guy, once presented training set accuracy to the client..just to speak highly about the project (this is both morally and professionally wrong). So if you know data science, you would know what is level of data scientists here. This is pretty much evident in most departments *Most guys do not work more than 2 hours in a day; hence no to little learning. Rest of the time they have breaks, meetings which are of no use and fun activities. *Managers use only two words here- to rate their employees- participation in extra curricular activities and visibility. So, if you are one of those who intend to work and hence learn- forget about any form of appreciation/growth.

Good annual leaves Free Cabs Easily accessible Retail domain knowledge

Cons

*Managers take pride in micromanagement *Too much politics leads to negativity and regret *Toxic work culture *Senior people and managers have no knowledge of data science and company is still working with rule based approach. Only Excel and ppt *Deserving people are not promoted and no clear policy of promotion *Below standard salary *Favouritism in teams create high attrition *Talented people move out and non competent people stick. Therefore all the managers have atleast 8-10 years of experience within this company
