Meet Nadine Marquart, Executive Assistant at ASSA ABLOY in Albstadt, Germany. In her role, Nadine handles everything from providing administrative support to the plant manager to coordinating external site visits and organizing employee events. “Even if I don’t have direct contact with customers, I know that my work makes a difference. By keeping things running smoothly and supporting my colleagues, I help create an environment where everyone can perform at their best,” she says.
In only three months, colleagues from across ASSA ABLOY tested and rolled out Cursor, an AI coding tool now used by hundreds of developers in the company. The secret was simple: trust, shared purpose and working together across divisions. This initiative aims to boost software developer productivity using AI. The R&D Services team acted as a connector and enabler, bringing together a cross-divisional core team fostering collaboration and innovation.
Robert Koh has been a core member of ASSA ABLOY for 36 years and has worked with various colleagues around the globe in his Treasury and Tax Specialist role. He started his career through Lockwood in Australia in ’89 as a Financial Accountant. Later on, it was acquired by ASSA ABLOY. He was then part of the evolution of the APAC division, which began with a CEO, a CFO and him, becoming the Corporate Affairs Manager for the new division. Over time he moved into his current role of Tax and Treasury Specialist, which has seen him being involved in the M&A work.
Agnieszka Krztoń joined Opening Solutions EMEIA as a UX Designer in August 2022. To further develop her skills and gain more experience, she has now applied to the Graduate Program in our EMEIA division. “So far, the secondment has been the most exciting part, moving to a different country and working from another ASSA ABLOY office for three months. I’m currently in my fifth week in Berlin, Germany, with our Cyber Security Team, and it has exceeded all my expectations. It’s a unique opportunity to grow both professionally and personally,” says Agnieszka.
Meet Sherrie-Lee Tim, who is the Director of Finance within our Entrance Systems division, based in in Toronto, Canada. Sherrie thrives during end-of-month reports, “That's when I really feel I shine. I thrive during those intense periods, making sure everything is complete, and the numbers are exactly where they need to be,” she says. Outside work, Sherrie is an avid traveller, she has explored numerous countries, but is now focused on settling into her new life in Canada, where she enjoys evening walks along Lake Ontario with her fiancé.
Meet Steven Cheong, Smart Security Product Management Director for Opening Solutions Greater China & Southeast Asia. Steven joined ASSA ABLOY in 2020 after over 15 years in R&D. He loves bringing good ideas to life and led the launch of the push-pull smart door locks, Luna and Kyra, within his first year.
As we celebrate 30 years of ASSA ABLOY, we are proud to recognize colleagues who have built a long career with us. One such colleague is Jan Skærup, Business Unit Manager at Entrance Systems’ Business Segment Industrial. This year, Jan is celebrating his 40th anniversary in the industry. Jan’s business unit has a great record of retaining talent, with many colleagues staying for decades. When asked about the key to success, Jan said: “people run this business. Gigi Guerrero-Ivanovic, SHRM-CP is a Human Resources Manager at Sargent, Opening Solutions Americas in New Haven, Connecticut. “Every day, the first thing I do is walk the factory floor with the production managers. For me, it’s more than a routine; it’s a great opportunity to catch up with our folks,” she says. “It gives me time to listen to their concerns, be it benefits- or safety-related topics or even personal matters. Plus, I love walking. And I easily reach my 10,000-step goal every day.” Gigi is also deeply invested in promoting diversity and inclusivity within the company. She actively participates in “Uplift”, a women's network in the company, and takes pride in fostering a supportive environment for women in manufacturing. She also shares her experience in onboarding to give all newcomers a great first impression, a treatment she received when she was first introduced.
