As we conclude Pride Month, I want to take a moment to reflect and celebrate the progress we have made towards building a culture of inclusion. We are committed to enabling a fair, diverse and inclusive society as an employer across our value chain. I'm excited to share some of the crucial initiatives and forward-thinking policies we have implemented to support our LGBTQ+ colleagues. We won the Silver award at the Cannes Lion in the Glass: The Lion For Change category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for ‘Harpic’s Loocator’. Lion for Change celebrates culture-shifting creativity, recognising campaigns that address issues of gender inequality. These values reflect our commitment to enabling a fairer, more diverse and inclusive (D&I) society. In partnership with tgthr., our Hygiene brand Harpic created the #BeFreeToPee campaign that raised awareness and sparked conversations about public toilet accessibility in India, especially for women. We’re continuing to develop new ways to start important conversations around D&I, whether it’s raising awareness about the women’s pain gap or broadening the public’s understanding of autism.
Continuing our Pride Month celebrations, I'm excited to share more about our Birds and Bees Talk project in collaboration with the Government of India. We've developed a consent curriculum to teach school children essential concepts like consent, equity, awareness, and protection. The curriculum reached to more than 9 million students in India Additionally, we've created a parental guidance kit to help parents of young adults better understand and support these topics. Last week, on International Women’s Day, we had the privilege of meeting and interacting with Naina Lal Kidwai as part of Stories Unparalleled by Women@Reckitt ERG. Naina Ma’am’s authentic account of her journey navigating through primarily male-dominated spaces across life stages- be it an MBA from Harvard in the 80s, navigating daily work life, and eventually leading organisations was inspiring, to say the least. An organic conversation was ignited, with the audience exploring ways to draw lessons from Naina Ma’am’s journey and extrapolate them to today’s realities. It was particularly promising to see all genders participate in the forum in the quest to be better allies and create a workspace that lets everyone bring their best self to work every day.
