      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ServiceNow (Amsterdam)

      Interview

The process started out simple. I applied via their website through my LinkedIn profile. I was contacted the next day by a manger to set up a phone interview. The interview went well and I was quickly asked to interview in person at the Amsterdam office. I had to take an entire afternoon off of work for these interviews as I had to consecutively interview with different people I would be working with. It was professional and I was led to believe that I would likely be chosen for the job. After 5 interviews, they asked me to do another interview with a finance person in the US. This changed the tone of all of the meetings and I started to notice the red flags I had missed: no work/life balance, "people often cannot take it here", "I know the Dutch are more laid back than Americans thus problems at the office." "Finance does not believe in the need for procurement at this company". I was also asked several questions related to p2p, which was not the area for which I thought I was going to contribute. The next morning I had an automated email that stated that "after careful review of your qualificattions, you were not chosen for the position." I had read about this in other glassdoor reviews but thought that maybe it would be different depending how far along you were in the process or based on the profession of the job. I was sorely mistaken and have never experienced such an unprofessional way to communicate such information to someone that has spent so much time of their own time investing in a future opportunity. Based on the last interview and the decision experience, although disappointed, I am glad this position did not work out as I believe this is how they would interact with their employees as well.
