My interview process with ServiceNow involved a recruiter screen, two hiring manager interviews, followed by a design exercise and presentation.
I consider design exercises to be pretty standard for a UX interview process, so I don’t mind spending time completing them. After I present my Design exercise, it’s crickets. I had to reach out 4 times before I finally heard back. As a candidate who spent 8 hours working on the Design exercise, I felt that this treatment was disrespectful of a candidate's time.
The sense I got from this experience is that ServiceNow doesn’t know how to vet candidates based on their Design exercise and that their interview loop may be incomplete. As someone who has hired UX Designers in the past, the Design Exercise should only be one of the consideration factors. I felt like they were looking for a “right” answer.
