Pros

Good projects Working opportunities n/a

Cons

I joined like a month back and it has been an unpleasant experience for me as the transition is scary. I was warned on the first day about the team manager and her behavior however i decided to neglect it and focus on the work. Within a week i was experiencing the unprofessional behavior of my manager and despite of whole team complaining about her work ethics there was no action being taken. I can’t believe BNY Mellon does not take these complaints seriously as it hampers the confidence, work motivation and mental health of the whole team. Within one month of working here i already feel unmotivated and scared of receiving my manager’s phone calls because of the disrespectful tone. On the top of this due to high work pressure they ask to extend the work hours and i end up working till 1.30 AM in the office and the location does not provide cabs or safety at this time. I had to find some place to stay near by. The company should consider safety of women if working from office is mandated and more over the manager is responsible for letting team members stay in the office late night despite of safety concerns.

Pros

Job only as good as immediate manager. Salary is Ok ish Benefit options are ok not great.

Cons

1) Retaliation is a way of life at this company going back to 2018 and becoming worse since 2) Mid level managers are very efficient at passively insulting the Teams they are responsible for. 3) It is nearly impossible to advance in the company. 4) When you try to post to another department - your Mid level manager will do the best to stop you from advancing. Some have close friends in HR that will even have you submit a new application in an attempt to accuse the other department of recruiting you. I have experienced this. 5) The only way to increase pay and experience is by leaving the company. 6) It use to be a culture of lets help others when there is a problem, now it is lets find who to blame for upper mangers rushing a project before all risks are identified. 7) If you are taking a new Job - professionally push for higher Salary once you are in raises will be very small.
