Pros

1. They may pay you a lot 2. They may give benefits over & above the CTC 3. You may get projects where you would learn

Cons

However, whatever I wrote in the "Pros" section, in return of those, they would treat you like you are not a human. HR department lacks the courage to speak up in front of the manager, & if the manager is sitting outside India - YOU ARE DOOMED. because even if this onsite manager is abusive towards the employee, HR will tuck their tail in between their legs & run away. When such behaviors by the onsite manager was flagged, one of their exact responses (means, exact line by line word by word responses) was - "we cant do anything, you will have to deal with it, listen to what he says, even if he abuses - you have to either listen & keep the job, else you can resign, because he is from onsite". I will specifically mention the names of the managers who are like this as I dealt with them. There may be even different managers like them - since the company culture is like this. & once you leave the company & they give you relieving letter, even after that the HR department would harass you for idiotic reasons. NOW, you decide - DO YOU WANT TO TAKE ALL THE HIKE ETC & GET ABUSED OR DO YOU WANT TO JUST IGNORE THIS COMPANY.

Pros

Good projects Working opportunities n/a

Cons

I joined like a month back and it has been an unpleasant experience for me as the transition is scary. I was warned on the first day about the team manager and her behavior however i decided to neglect it and focus on the work. Within a week i was experiencing the unprofessional behavior of my manager and despite of whole team complaining about her work ethics there was no action being taken. I can’t believe BNY Mellon does not take these complaints seriously as it hampers the confidence, work motivation and mental health of the whole team. Within one month of working here i already feel unmotivated and scared of receiving my manager’s phone calls because of the disrespectful tone. On the top of this due to high work pressure they ask to extend the work hours and i end up working till 1.30 AM in the office and the location does not provide cabs or safety at this time. I had to find some place to stay near by. The company should consider safety of women if working from office is mandated and more over the manager is responsible for letting team members stay in the office late night despite of safety concerns.
