Pros

There is no best reason to work with BP.

Cons

Please ready all before join GBS Pune. There are several cons of GBS Pune center:- - This center is opened for cost cutting, I understand now several companies do that but they are following the wrong practices, last year they hired 1500 employees which is actually over hiring and now when they realize it's overhired they start giving Bench letter to extra employees. And Managers asked to find job outside. HR don't play any role here, they just follow managers calls. - Every Manager is given target to reduce cost by 30% every year at any cost. So managers push to do Automation which is there first priority now. Any process Exclation is not that bic problem but no Automation is problem here. By following this cost cutting that means out of 1500 employees they will fire 450 people. - Last year they hire people by saying that you will get monthlt allowance apart from salary of 7350 P.M. but this year they closed that policy as well to have cost cutting. Several resignations are going on here which is also there plan of cost cutting. - At time of induction they show that BP follow Work life balance, Employees Safety, Health first. But at ground level you see, employees are working 15hr a day and management really don't care about it. Policies are just on papers not practical. - Initially they hired good employees by showing good faces and values but after 6 month, once transition is over. They treat us like labours just because they what employees should resign and they can save cost. Apart from this, work environment is very demotivating, daily you see people crying that they are asked to leave by manager. So you also feel demotivated and don't feel like to work. Think before you join BP GBS Pune center, today or tomorrow your job will be at risk. Don't leave your good organization just because of money as i did. Seriously you will regret it!!

Issues with India setup

Pros

- Friendly environment and people. Some good policies if not all. Emphasis on safety - Some good perks for WFH setup, Restricted shares, Reimbursement of medical expense (upto 30 k) apart from Medical insurance - opportunity to get free certifications from LinkedIn learning and Coursera

Cons

- No Job security. They put you on a cliffhanger for long and so diplomatically ask you to look for new job opportunities (without even uttering a word to look for job outside) - One of the most incompetent HR, They do not respond or they do not have answers to your questions - Work culture is different from other geographies. Some teams may have lost work life balance. Many leads are not even much concerned abt it - No transparency. they do not want us to presume anything but they are unable to give you transparency. Some decisions they made, have an impact on project but not even communicated on time to impacted teams. - Hired some manager with higher packages but they rely so much on their subordinates for each and every work. Subordinates are designated secretaries. and still none of the Managers have the courtesy to reward their team members for their contribution - Suggestions made by Juniors are often neglected/rejected. Have seen some suggestions neglected which results later in escalation :) - Health insurance does not cover your parents at all (no options at all). No provision of covering your parents by paying extra. HR has been working on it since 1.5 years and not yet came up with solution. Such a great HR team

Pros

Please note the below feedback is applicable only for the bp pune-Innovation and Engineering(I&E) division and not relevant for bp london and bp houston offices 1.Good pay master 2. You can take lengthy breaks and go on a 2 weeks vacation to get refreshed which is good for your mental health considering the covid times we are living in. 3. Few of the candidates who are hired are really good at technical skills and are open source contributors. you will get an opportunity to meet technically sound people 4.Good for individual contributors roles. All the roles are individual contributor roles, no matter what the job description says. I was working as Azure architect in my previous organizations and when i joined bp pune, i came to realized that it is an individual contributor role and i am suppose to give daily status to the scrum master who is from the vendor side. If you have worked as a program manager, Azure solution architect, delivery manager in your previous roles, you might feel that you are going atleast 7 years back in time when you used to work as a senior developer. A feature would be assigned to you and you need to delivery it by working with the vendor teams.

Cons

1. Not much power has been given to the bp Pune associates to drive the things. All the strategic decisions are taken by the BP london and BP houston office associates after having discussion with vendor associates. 2. Highly vendor driven organization. Permanent employees working out of bp pune office does not have much power or say in the ways of working. even though the vendor and india bp employees are based in the same country which is India, vendor team works in 2 PM to 11 PM shift and bp badge employees are suppose to go to office twice or thrice a week and bp badge employee starts the work at 9 am and had to take calls in the evenings as the the vendor comes in shift(2pm to 11pm) so it becomes really difficult for the bp permanent employee based out of pune to get time for oneself. I have given this feedback to the management but nothing changed 3. If you are someone who wants to lead the team of technical people, you may not get an opportunity working out of bp india. you must join bp london or bp houston in case you wish to be part of strategic decision making. 4. Getting promoted to next grade is a lengthy process 5. You won't gain business domain knowledge if you are part of platform teams be it AWS or Azure data platform
