This week we celebrated the opening of our revamped office space in Mumbai, India and the addition of a new service center. The revamped office space introduces modern, activity-based workspaces, enhancing flexibility for collaborative discussions and meetings. The Service Centre equips to offer end-to-end solutions for Sports Medicine, ENT and Robotic customers. Learning at every stage is an essential aspect of everyone’s life. As said by Leonardo Da Vinci, “Learning is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never regrets.” Learning helps to nurture our minds which purifies our soul. Learning is a continuous process of acquiring new knowledge, competencies, and skills. Translating this on the ground, we are glad to share that 37 of our fellow colleagues in Finance completed their Cert IFRS course and were formally felicitated by ACCA. The felicitation ceremony was held in our office and colleagues from finance participated locally and leaders from across the globe were kind enough to grace the felicitation ceremony.
Our Smith+Nephew team in Pune recently held a blood donation camp as part of their focus on Wellness during April and May. The camp was organized through the Dina Nath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research center, a renowned hospital in Pune, who came to our Pune Centre for a day so employees could easily take part. Site Leader, Sankar Narayan reflected on the activity, saying: “The response to the camp was, as usual, overwhelming with 46 of our caring fellow colleagues showing their enthusiasm and willingness to donate blood. "The hospital was so thankful to Smith and Nephew for organizing the camp and even presented us with a trophy as a token of appreciation, along with a certificate for each employee who took part and a lifelong coupon for one free unit of blood should they have a need for this in future.
60 passionate volunteers from our Malaysian offices joined forces to assist the dedicated zookeepers at Zoo Negara Malaysia in their daily tasks towards wildlife conservation. The morning began with a heavy downpour but this didn't dampen our volunteer’s spirits as everyone arrived cheerful and timely to start the day. From cleaning enclosures to providing care, our colleagues significantly impacted the well-being of all the wildlife. 🎗️As we honour National Breast Cancer Awareness this month we give our support and encouragement to those living with breast cancer, honor those who have survived and give our condolences to those who have lost someone. We thank those who have been involved in the various events being held at our sites worldwide in order to raise awareness for breast cancer and secondary breast cancer.
In the spirit of creating a sustainable environment and supporting freedom of mobility, we were proud to be Gold Supporter of @The FoodBank Singapore’s inaugural 'Zero Hunger Walk'. Flagging off the walk was Guest-of-Honour, Mr Chee Seng Poon, our very own Vice-President of R&D, Asia-Pacific. The walk garnered more than 400 participants from the community – our team Singapore and their family members also supported the event and completed the walk around the scenic Pandan Reservoir. In conjunction with World Arthritis Month, every step we take, we move towards battling arthritis and ending world hunger!
