Your experience is directly dependent on the manager you get in my opinion. My manager is a very unkind person who has been with this company for a long time and thus can do no wrong. I have had this person lose patience with me multiple times over something as a small as scrolling the wrong direction in an excel sheet. My manager also never complements my work, gives me feedback, or has regular check ins with me, so I don’t know if I am doing my best work or not, further adding anxiety. The saddest part is that people who have been on this team longer than I have seem to just accept this sub-par management style from our manager. I have colleagues on other teams working with more “modern style” managers and are having a much better time than me.
